Meet Megan: Your New Dev Biz BFF

Hey, I'm Megan!

I know you didn’t come here for my life story, but stick with me—you just might relate.

In 2016, I dove into freelance web development, excited but totally winging it. My business took off faster than I expected… but I was working nonstop, undercharging, and running myself into the ground. By 2018, I was so burned out I shut everything down, convinced freelancing just wasn’t sustainable.

But—man plans, and God laughs. 😅

By the end of that year, I found myself back in business, this time as a single mom with two kids, a dog, and zero space for burnout. I had no choice but to do things differently—charging what I was worth, focusing on work/life balance, and running projects on MY terms.

Fast forward to today:

✨ I work ~4-6 hours a day and can leave my desk in the middle of the day for kids’ school activities, come in late so that I can hit the gym in the mornings, and have read more fiction in the last two years than I had in the previous ten.
✨ My business fully supports me and my little family since I charge a rate that’s both fair to myself and reflective of the value my clients receive.
✨ I collaborate with clients who truly respect me and treat me as an expert, meaning that business runs super smoothly from day-to-day.

This transformation is what inspired me to create Dev Biz Best Friend—so you don’t have to learn those lessons the hard way like I did. 🫶🏻
